Spurs Relegation Odds: From Price to Real Probability
How to turn Tottenham's relegation price into a real probability: strip the overround across all runners, then test it against the 40-point mark.

A futures bet is a bet on an outcome that is settled at the end of a season or tournament rather than after one game: who wins the league, who wins the championship, who is relegated, who tops a division. You lock in a price today for a result that may be months away. That makes futures easy to place and hard to price well.
How do futures odds work?
Every runner in an outright market has a price, and every price converts to an implied probability. Decimal odds of 5.0 imply 20 percent; American odds of +400 mean the same. Add up the implied probabilities of every runner and the total is above 100 percent. That excess is the overround, and in futures markets it is usually much larger than on a single game, because the book carries the risk for a long time and many runners attract little money.
How do I find the real probability behind a futures price?
Convert every runner's price, add them up, and divide each one by the total. That simple normalisation gives a fair share for each runner. It is not perfect: books tend to shade longshots more than favourites, so the normalised figure for a long price can still overstate the real chance. Comparing the result with a points-based or ratings-based model of the season is the useful next step.
What about relegation odds?
Relegation is a futures market run in reverse. In the Premier League the bottom three clubs go down, so a relegation market has three winners, and the implied probabilities across all clubs should add up to roughly 300 percent before the margin. Points-per-game pace, the gap to safety and the remaining fixtures do most of the work in any honest estimate.
How does Gamble-24 cover futures?
We take a market as the table stands, convert the full board of prices, strip the overround across every runner, and set the result against what the standings and schedule say. We show the working so you can redo it when the prices move. We never tip a winner.
